Public Comment Meetings for Proposed High Desert Trail Project

Public Notice The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed High Desert Trail project and is seeking public comment. The High Desert Trail would be designated on approximately 800 miles of existing routes primarily across BLM-managed lands, with staging areas, signage, wayfinding, and administration of special recreation permits for events and guiding on the trail. The purpose of the project is to provide a designated, long distance, off-highway vehicle route that improves recreation opportunities and supports rural communities through recreation-based visitation.
